PROMOTIONAL PRODUCT APPLICATIONS

 
 

 

There was a time when the United States Army BOSS Program was well funded and million-dollar annual budgets were filtered from command to the base level program leadership, through coordinated regional support. Very often, this action occurred as a result of the passionate efforts of civilian representatives who brandished a sincere love and loyalty for the solider community. Over the period of 2005 to 2012, that person was Joanne Geer.

Having worked for several years as the regional MWR Advisor at IMCOM Europe, she was a relentless maverick who took on the command bureaucracy in support of the single soldier program community. During her regional then command leadership, product quality and innovation ruled the day. Critically, she understood that every dollar spent on product advertising, directly reflected on the program brand and led to the overall success of the base level community. To that end, her regional budget expenditures included innovative high visibility floor displays and tents, annual purchases of premium brand uniform staff apparel, tactical backpacks and quality oriented often brand affiliated promotional products. The apex of these strategic efforts occurred when she served as BOSS program director at IMCOM, with her energies leading to the 2011 global contract rollout of many of the same advertising products previously delivered to programs in Europe.

As a multi-decade prime vendor to the BOSS program, McGRAPHIX Advertising Products learned firsthand about the life saving principals of the program. Highlighting examples from history always delivers guidance as a way forward, while drawing attention to special heroes inspires those found in similar roles today. The BOSS program was the inspirational template for all the other single service member programs that followed. The efforts highlighted above and the product purchases referenced throughout The BOSS Report are designed to bring attention to the mission of these programs. That mission is to draw single service-members into healthy social environments and save lives. Reinvigorating and supporting the efforts of those who managed these programs should remain equal to all other force support considerations.
