For decades past and unto this day, much of American manufacturing has been assaulted and shuttered by Chinese government actions supported legislativly by the corrupt Washington political class. This mercantile ‘free’ trade strategy consolidates global manufacturing sectors and through both subsidies and allied import agents, works to decimate American living wages and side step good environmental stewardship. Once the American industry is eviscerated, the government of China monopolizes the sector, raise prices and leaves American workers both unemployed and dependent. The results continue to play out in the hollowed and darkened streets of our nation, the polluted environment that is China and the growing mass of garbage in the Pacific Ocean.
The American printing industry and the American jobs it supports continues to absorb this onslaught. At McGRAPHIX Advertising Products, this is most egregious in our display product sector (i.e. Arches, Tents, Retractors, Flags, Floor Displays & Table Throws), where Chinese printed products have flooded the market with prices 20-50% lower than comparable U.S. based printing. Some identifying marketing features of these products include free FedEx delivery inducements along with significantly lower unit prices in side by side product comparisons. Something should seem amiss when the cheapest price still offers free delivery.
These products are typically factory printed, assembled and packaged in Shanghai, then overnight shipped via FedEx cargo planes for western distribution. McGRAPHIX Advertising Products has researched and identified over half the stateside industry ‘suppliers’ and found them sourcing Chinese printed products; many more operate outside our domestic associations and contract direct with these Chinese factories. We also find many of these products as awarded solutions on United States government bids, including DoD recruitment and government printing office proposals. This is the most destructive channel decimating American printing and the accompanying middle class wages.
