Artwork Submission Guidelines

Considerations prior to sending commercial artwork to
McGRAPHIX Advertising Products. 

Program Versions

Vector Image Files

• Adobe Illustrator CS6 (AI, EPS)

• Corel Draw 2017 (CDR)

Bitmap Image Files for Simulated Process Screen Printing Productions

• Adobe Photoshop (PSD)

Bitmap Image Files for CMYK Productions

• Adobe Illustrator CS6 (AI, EPS)

• Adobe Photoshop CS6 (PSD, .TIF)

• Corel Photo Paint 2017 (CPT)

Printing Color Pallets

• Spot color printing requires the use of the Pantone Solid Color palette in vector based files with 100% CMYK Black color assignments.

• Most bitmap color printing requires original or scaled 300 dpi images, while larger advertising display products can accept the same at  200 dpi .

Large Format Artwork Preparation

File Transfer

• Email artwork no larger than 4.0 MB

• For larger files, utilize the free 2GB file transfer service at WeTransfer.com.  This FTP service provides a mail server alternative to file delivery.  Please use the graphics email address above as the recipient address. 

Additional Information

• A hard copy of the file (.PDF File) should be sent with all electronic artwork. If files are sent via e-mail, a submitted color proof is helpful for verification.

Bitmap Images

McGRAPHIX Advertising Products can accept bitmap images.  These are properly formatted CMYK 300 DPI imagery originated to 100% print size for all items except our line of Advertising Display Products (Tents, Banners, Displays, etc.).  These larger items print at a maximum output of 200 DPI.  ALL bitmap images need to be originated and scaled at 100% the output size.  Otherwise, the image will print with jagged pixelated edges or blurriness. 

Font & File Information

• Insure that all fonts are converted to paths, curves or outlines

• Include all placed images within the artwork file

Color ASSIGNMENTS

Always use external Pantone Colors Swatch Books when assigning color to digital files.  This is the only method the industry can use to monitor color in production applications. Computer monitors colors are unreliable and in RGB format. When assigning CMYK colors, use only the values contained with the Pantone Process Color Guidebook and code them in the artwork file.

Use only Solid Pantone or CMYK color values. Using RGB for any printing project will cause avoidable color production issues.
